There is no better place to spend National American Beer Day than at @obxtrio in Kitty Hawk. Stop by and explore their huge selection of beer, wine, and cheese or sample the delicacies from their kitchen.
Order the grilled cheese. You can thank me later. 😁

There is nothing like a walk on the beach to gather ones thoughts and clear away the mental clutter. I love looking for unique seashells and rare pieces of seaglass.
Do you collect treasures from the beaches you explore?
The Sanderling Resort is awesome. I check into my room to find homemade white chocolate, pecan, cranberry bread pudding with fresh strawberries and a plump blackberry AND a hand written note welcoming me to the resort. How cool is that?
Chef Riddle will you marry me? 😁
The Roanoke Island Maritime Museum located in the George Washington Creef boathouse in Manteo is a working boat shop offering a look at local maritime heritage through displayed watercraft, exhibits, restoration projects, and traditional skills workshops.
Several small watercraft are on display including a 1883 shad boat, a clipper yawl boat and a 1960’s hydroplane that locals once used in racing.
There is just something very special about a wooden boat, don’t you agree?
If you are in the area for the last Friday and Saturday of October, the 5th Annual Wooden Boat Show will feature boats on the water and on the grounds of the museum.
A Beer Flight at The Outer Banks Brewing Station in Kill Devil Hills. The first wind powered brewery in the United States, the first business to produce wind power on the Outer Banks AND our destination for lunch.
My choice … the POWER GREENS SALAD of kale and spinach salad with goat cheese, carrots, sunflower seeds and honey mustard dressing. Are you a fan of craft beer or have a favorite microbrewery?
Award-winning goldsmith Pembroke Bryant of Sea, Sand and Hand discusses authentic seaglass with @jaynecannon and the #OBXNOW tour.
Pem is featured year round with a full line of inventory at the KDH Artists’ Cooperative located at Milepost 8.5 on the Bypass in Kill Devil Hills. Make sure to make KDH Co-Op a stop on your own tour through the Outer Banks and make sure to tell him Tammy said Hi!
I purchased a beautiful soft aqua seaglass necklace set in silver. It is already a treasured possession and constant reminder of this amazing trip.
Nothing but MAD LOVE for Manteo NC. I need to go back for a few days to explore this wonderful area of the Outer Banks in more detail. I loved the shoppes, history, food and so much more. One of my aunt’s favorite places to visit in the south and I can see why!
